Poets'
Corner
|
|
A well designed site, with a
lot of great poetry. Categories include Love, Insight, and Nature, as
well as a very interesting Interactive category (visitors add their
own stanzas to existing poems). They also have a chat room (not
terribly active the few times I was there), and a great Search feature
so you can look for just the right poem to suit your needs. All in
all, a very nice place to visit!
|
|
The
Web Post -- Love Poems
|
|
The only category here is -
you guessed it - Love Poems. It's not a fancy site, which makes it
easy to navigate, and you won't find hundreds and hundreds of poems
(unless you visit their alphabetized Archives). But those that are
there are nice ones. There's also a Top Ten feature worth checking
out.

|
Romantic
Poems and Poetry
|
|
This web site is a
hodge-podge of romance, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.
You'll find poems by the greats (Shelley, Shakespeare, Lord Byron), as
well as those by the aspiring, sent by visitors like you and me. They
also have sections on Romantic books, movies, and songs. Ah, one would
fall in love again ...

|
Severed
Deception's Poetry Forum |
|
A beautifully designed site,
with lots and lots of poems to read and enjoy. The poems on this web
site are organized by Author, rather than category, so be ready for a
LOT of browsing. The good news is - it will be time well spent.
There's also a nice discussion board so you can talk about the poems,
too.
|
|
Stars
In The Night |
|
Poems can be submitted by
email, or you can browse through the dozens and dozens (maybe
hundreds!) of poems others have already submitted. Organized by
Author, rather than category.

Writer's
Block |
|
When you click on this link,
go get a cup of coffee. It takes a long time to load,
but that's largely because there's a lot of things to
explore. This site focuses on new writers (not just poets), and
everything is categorized by Author. A wonderful touch here - a photo
of the author is included, so you can attach a face to the work. A
really wonderful web site to visit!

|
Crystal`s
pages of Romance,Love Poetry and Flowers |
|
Crystal has put together a
fascinating site, using frames to highlight a number of related
sites as well. Poets, of course, should visit the Love Poems section,
but don't ignore the section on Romance while you're there. Especially
the wonderful page on saying I Love You in
just about every language known to mankind.

|
Lovestories.com |
|
You could easily spend
several days here, perusing the articles and diaries and even a recipe
or two. And that's before you even get to the 12,000 poems, submitted
by over 5,000 poets like you and me. Can you say WOW???

|
The
Bridge |
|
The Bridge publishes exciting
new poetry, fiction, art and photography - with the self-proclaimed
distinction of being real and gutsy rather than glitzy or glamorous.
This link takes you to their Current Issue (monthly), but be sure to
check out the Library for a whole lot more great poetry and art.

Beyond
The Mist Poetry Page |
|
This site hasn't been up
long, but they're quickly building a good list of poems. Read those
already posted, or submit your own.

The

says it all. "Discover poetry from the new talent that is rising

The

|
If you like cute, you'll love
Andrea's home page. She features poetry by herself, by personal
friends, and some submitted by people like you and I.
|
|
All
Things Literary |
|
Michelle has a lovely home
page, featuring her own poems, poems submitted by others, and a small
workshop where she gives some wonderful tips. If you do nothing else
while you're there, check out her poem titled "Closer."

|
Pete's
Best Loved Poems |
|
A wonderful collection of
poetry, organized by author or title, and ranging from the famous to
collections submitted by every-day people like you and I. A very
nicely designed site, too. Recommended!

|
Electronic
Poetry Center |
|
Put together by University at
Buffalo, the EPC "serves as a central gateway to resources in
electronic poetry and poetics produced at the University at Buffalo as
well as elsewhere on the Internet." At first I thought this site
was simply hard to navigate. Then I discovered they have over 23 GIG
of information and poetry on line, and I realized it was simply too
darn BIG. Warning - try to limit yourself to just
seven or eight hours at a time or else your eyes will will be crossed
like mine...
|
|
Poetry
From The Heart |
|
Connie has a nice site, with
some beautiful poetry by herself and others who have submitted. I
suggest visiting this site late at night, when the Internet is slow
and the mood is right.
|
|
Farvin's
Masterpiece Palace |
|
A *very*
impressive web site, with beautiful graphics (okay, so it's a bit
slow) and exquisite balance. Oh yea, there's a darn nice collection of
poetry (and other stuff) lurking beneath the beauty, too!
|
|
Skater's
Poetry Corner |
|
Ice skating poetry for figure
skaters by figure skaters and fans. But if you're not a skater or fan,
you'll still love the heartfelt poetry. Warning -
lot's of in-jokes here, but they're worth taking the effort to
decipher. LOL.

Nan's
Morsels |
|
It's not always easy to find
a personal web site where the poetess is delightfully witty,
insightful, and a versatile master of poetic form. It's even harder to
find one with four generations of wonderful poetry to
peruse.

RedFrog
- Poems from the Planet Earth
|
|
This is an extremely
extension collection (database) of poets and poems, though I would
hesitate to call many of them "well known." But obscurity
doesn't take anything away from greatness, and if you're looking for exactly
the right poem, this would be the best place to finish (if not start).
They have a very nice Search function, and a wonderfully complete
Biographies section.

yet world famous. Some really wonderful poetry here!

Love
Quotes: Love, Passion, Romance, Desire, Seduction, and Beauty |
|
Don't let the title of this
site fool you - many of the "quotes" are wonderful, often
famous poems. And those that are not? Those that are not may well
provide the inspiration for YOUR next poem.
